Quarknet Workshop
The KU QuarkNet center was pleased to host 37 teachers from around the Kansas and Oklahoma areas for a workshop series on modern science topics in the K-12 curriculum. The first workshop on Feb 10, 2007 featured presentations on particle physics research and demonstrations from the Quarked project. The series invites a mix of elementary, middle and secondary teachers to explore:
How can we best introduce students to the methods of science and get them to understand the nature of science?
How can we introduce the finding of modern science into the curriculum?
The demand for this series was so great that the series will be repeated June 2-3, 2007. Find out more about Quarknet at http://quarknet.fnal.gov.
